Preparing today's youth for a brighter future

While the debate grows concerning the rising decline of Muslim youth today, many people continue to seek new solutions and strategies in an attempt to rectify the situation. However in most cases, the underlying reasons for why this social ill initially takes place usually be several in number and often goes beyond the simple stereotype being portrayed in the media. Research shows that the problem is not solely based on the Muslim youth being “frustrated” at current events, but moreover is deeply rooted in their understanding of Islam, which is evident given the ever-growing Muslim population of prisoners, drug abusers, and gang members to name but a few. Thus in this hour of need, it is imperative that we go back to the tried and tested way of our beloved Prophet (May peace & blessings be upon him) by imparting a well balanced education system to those that most need it.

The Arqam School was the first ever school founded in Islamic history namely the blessed home of Sayiduna Zayd ibn Arqam, at which the holy Prophet (May peace & blessings be upon him) would regularly teach his Companions ‘according to the needs of their time’. This school went on to produce some of the most finest individuals ever seen in history who later became role models themselves for generations to come.

Similarly, Woodlands Academy intends to create confident young people who are aware of their Islamic heritage by providing knowledge that is not only authentic and far reaching, but also relevant to the modern world. At the heart of our aspiration is for youngsters to become confident individuals, successful learners, and responsible citizens who effectively contribute to the making of society. By educating our young Muslims, we will also be molding future generations who by the permission of Allah will become beacons of light in our community.
